Happy New Year "Buddy"
I just adopted "Buddy" today. My little furry angel is an "Arizona Dachshuend Rescue Dog". "Buddy" is two years old. Right now my little little guy is a little on the boney side, but I will have him fattened up in no time at all. He already spent the day gnawing on a chew flips and eating Scoobey Snax. We took two walks and he played with Toonses the Cat and Fonze my little Pomeranian. I feel so lucky to have my little "Buddy" on such a special day. Thank you "Buddy", I will never let you down...... Love mommy [list]

Missy
Missy is a very well behaved 2 1/2 year old beagle-dachson mix. She will do exactly what I want as long it is the same thing she wants! We walk each morning and evening ... She often picks the route.
My mother could not get me to make by bed, neither could my wife. But Missy comes and begs me to straighten up the bed before she takes her naps. Of course I can not refuse.
She does not like to have her photo taken. She looks at me with disgust whever I grab my camera. So I am posting only a few.
I built the snow people just for her. She had nothing to do with them.

This is my girl Maxi, who adopted me. Literally, she just showed up at my front door and claimed me. That was 5 years ago. Apparently she'd been running loose in the neighborhood and escaped from a girl a few miles down the road. The owner was actually relieved bc she was having a crumby pregnancy and couldn't keep up with a jack russells demands. I have four sons and I think God gave me a girl in this form. Truly, she's got me wrapped around her lil paw.

Boone
Boone was bred to be a guide dog. My wife and I raised him for Guiding Eyes for the Blind. When Guiding Eyes released Boone from its program due to Boone's fear of loud noises, my wife and I were happy to have the opportunity to keep him. He loves to play and is a friend to all--especially Oliver, a stray cat that eventually became Boone's brother.

A Dogs Life
This is Boomer. I'm not sure how old Boomer was when he came into my life. He spent the 1st years of his life tied behind a townhouse with no shelter, irregular food and water and no human contact. When a kind hearted neighbor tried to intervene she was told to mind her own GD busnisess. Distraught she told her dog loving mother the story....and that night her mother and a friend (Conny)scaled the fence and stole Boomer. Connie had recently adopted a hound from Ohio Basset Rescue and the people there agreed to help. Boomer was ultimately placed in a home where he stayed 6 years. In the summer of 2002 he developed bloat and was hospitalized. While he was at the vets the family moved into a new home and shortly after a 2 legger baby arrived. Boom couldn't adjust...he lost weight, developed housebreaking accidents and began to go blind. He was returned to rescue in March of this year. He came to me shortly after, supposedly as a foster dog....but no takers for a old, blind hound, For the first 2 or 3 months my heart ached for him...he'd stand at my gate looking/sniiffing/waiting for his family But gradually he became my dog...and I realized he was answering to "old man" as his name. In early November I decided he'd never leave...I officially adopted him.
But the story doesn't end happily. 2 weeks ago he developed pancreatitis (already had underlying liver problems) and 36 hours later he quietly went to the Rainbow Bridge lying by my side on his favorite pillow.
Rest in peace old man...you were loved in the end

Wishing these pups at the pet store found homes, Hawaiian Eye
Two days ago, we stopped at the pet store and saw these Shar Pei-Boxer puppies. The tan one was sold, but the other two... This card is even more poignant as I think of all the puppies still waiting for their humans to come and love them as we love our Freddy and 'Oli:

Here you can post pictures of your canines -- or any dog, for that matter -- without restriction or having folks less enamored with dogs roll their eyes backwards 0) , login as Username: fotodogs and Password: fotodogs and post to your heart's content!
We'd love to hear your dog stories, too. This is a place to rave, rant, brag, and discuss all things DOG.
I like putting faces to fotopagers, so please feel free to post your photo here on this threads -- with or without your dog/s. I'll start the ball rolling...
I've never met a dog I didn't like, me ke Aloha,
